Serving as a confidant of Members of Congress, influential policy makers, and corporate leaders, Apollo Government Relations’ founder Andy Jones has spent decades at the intersection of policy and advocacy in Washington.
Andy’s career began in public service, working as a senior staffer for several Members of Congress, most recently for then Congressman, now Senator Ben Ray Luján of New Mexico. He advised the Congressman on his assignment to the House Energy and Commerce Committee as well as his roles in the leadership of the House Democratic Caucus and later at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Working for the Congressman, he played a role in the passage of the Affordable Care Act, the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and the Budget Control Act.
Over the last decade in the private sector, Andy has represented a broad range of clients ranging from some of the largest corporations on Earth to small non-profits. He has a track record of connecting business leaders, particularly those in innovative industries such as health care, technology and energy, with policymakers on Capitol Hill and the Administration. With strategic insight and an extensive network, he has empowered clients with the ability to navigate complex legislative environments and to drive impactful advocacy campaigns that obtain their objectives.
Andy graduated with honors from Trinity University with a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science and from the law school at the University of Texas at Austin. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and New York.
Andy is a native of Houston, Texas and currently lives in the Washington, DC area with his wife, two children, and the menagerie of pets adopted by his family when he’s out of town.
